Champagne-Ardenne has 8 lakes and ponds that make up an area of around 10,000 hectares.
To the north of the region are Vieilles Forges Lake and Lake Bairon.
The largest lakes are to be found between Troyes and Saint Dizier: the Forêt d'Orient Lake and above all the Lac du Der, which is the largest artificial lake in Europe (4800 ha).
Finally, further south are the 4 lakes of the Pays de Langres.
These bodies of water are not only conducive to relaxation, but also to enjoying various water sports. Launch ramps, ports...all the facilities are there to meet the needs of sailors.
Each lake has a number of sailing clubs and schools providing courses for young and old alike. Sailboat, dinghy, catamaran or windsurf: the choice is yours.
