Muid Montsaugeonnais
In Haute-Marne, two vineyards which disappeared at the beginning of the century came back to life around ten years ago, thanks to a handful of enthusiasts.
The vineyards of Montsaugeonnais first appeared in the ninth century with the foundation of the Priory of Aubigny. After a period of glory from the 15th to 17th centuries, it fell victim to phylloxera in the late 19th century. It was replanted in 1988.
The Muid Montsaugeonnais, both white and red, saw its 2001 Pinot Noir awarded a star in the Guide Hachette des Vins 2003.
