Organic champagnes do exist!

Champagne is increasingly responding to the demand for grapes produced without herbicides or chemicals.

In the Champagne region, the climate is not conducive to organic agriculture because the humidity favours the development of mildew. Even though not all of them use fully organic processes, many growers have become increasingly aware of the problem and make every effort to be as organic as possible.

Even the larger wineries, whose operations bear similarities to industrial production, are turning to organic techniques.
