The Regional Nature Parks of Champagne-Ardenne
Champagne-Ardenne has two Regional Nature Parks:
The Montagne de Reims Park
Created on 28 September 1976, the Montagne de Reims RNP is situated between Reims and Epernay. It stretches over 50,000 ha and includes 69 different towns and villages.
Its main natural resources are its slopes with their prestigious vineyards and its extensive forest, including the site of the Verzy faux.
The RNP in France
The first Regional Nature Parks were created in 1967. Their objectives are to preserve the heritage of their region and ensure economic development in the territory in compliance with environmental concerns.

The Forêt d'Orient Park
The Forêt d’Orient RNP was created on 16 October 1970. It includes 52 different towns and villages in the Department of Aube and stretches over around 70,000 ha.
Its main natural resources are the 3 major lakes (Orient, Amance, Temple), ideal for bird watching enthusiasts. Its rich heritage includes half timbered constructions.
