The Roc la Tour
The Devil is never far from legend. And once again, Satan is at work in the legend of Roc la Tour, in the forest of Château-Regnault in Ardennes...
It is said that an unfortunate local lord sold his soul to Satan so that in a single night, he would build a castle worthy of his wife. Satan nearly succeeded. But just as he was setting the last stone, the village cock crowed, signalling that the attempt had failed. Out of fury, Satan threw his headpiece against the walls of the building, which collapsed...
Two rocky masses, set not far from one another in an improbable equilibrium, dominate the Semoy Valley, and form the debris of Castle Roc la Tour. There was ever a castle here? Nothing could be less certain. But when legend becomes reality, you must write the legend.
