Awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, this label rewards parks and gardens which meet the certain quality criteria and requirements. These criteria involve the composition of the garden, the relationship to environmental concerns, their remarkable aspects, their botanical and historical interest and their upkeep.

This State-approved label – it is not a protection measure – is awarded for 5 years and is renewable and reviewable.

This label was created to meet a desire to promote high quality parks and gardens, public and private, old and contemporary, open to the public and particularly well maintained. It guarantees visitors that the site will be of the best possible quality and contributes to the promotion of French natural and botanical heritage.
