Champagne-Ardenne abounds in places of remembrance where our history was forged.
In Wassy, in 1562, men were killed because of their beliefs. In Valmy in 1792, they fought for the ideal of a republic which had not yet been born. In Bazeilles, along the River Marne, at Mussy-sur-Seine, they gave their lives in the name of freedom. In Dormans and Novion-Porcien, in Mondement and Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, museums and memorials perpetuate their memory.
