This vast area of nearly 5,000 ha of water comprises three lakes and is the heart of the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park.

A mysterious land where water, forests and earth come together, the Orient Forest Regional Natural Park is a wildlife sanctuary which covers 70,000 hectares.  

  • The Park is home to vast artificial reservoirs in the midst of the deep forest:
  • The Lac d'Orient (2,500 ha) is the largest. It is ideal for sailing and has a number of dedicated bathing areas It is also the main bird reserve. 
  • Lake Temple (1800 ha) is dedicated to fishing. 
  • Lake Amance (500 ha) is a great spot for power boating activities (water skiing mainly).

More than 70 smaller ponds form a series of veritable aquatic gardens. Several trails allow visitors to discover this huge outstanding natural site on foot or by bicycle, over several days. A fantastic discovery of forests of hornbeam and oak, pine groves, the beautiful villages of Aube, the lapping of the water at the lake sides, the varied fauna and flora living in perfect harmony.
