PARC ET JARDIN DU CHÂTEAU DE DONJEUX

Park and garden at Donjeux
  • Three grids richly decorated with fire pots and fruit baskets open onto this rare hollow French garden, established on an axis of symmetry perpendicular to that of the castle.
As in the King's vegetable garden, the high walls protect from the wind and trap the heat which will be restored at night to fragile buds. Ramps and access stairs frame two vaulted sheds. This exceptional work is due to the pencil of Jean-Michel Chevotet (1698-1772).
