  • On the internal façade (1556-1557), the turrets and the spiral staircase, crowned by an elegant steeple, recall the château at Blois.

Jean-Baptiste de La Salle was born here on 30 April 1651, a date commemorated by the statue placed in a niche in the facade in 1951.
Since May 2015, an exhibition has presented the history of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Schools and the one of its founder, as well as today's situation.

The townhouse of Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle was built from 1545 by a wealthy cloth merchant. The variety of ornamental motifs which can be seen here illustrate the tastes of the Renaissance. On the internal façade (1556-1557), the turrets and the spiral staircase, crowned by an elegant steeple, recall the château at Blois.

Visits available in French, English and Spanish. Tuesday to Saturday from 2 pm to 5 pm. Closed in January (except for groups, by reservation).
