  • The monumental Mars Gate dates from the first part of the 3rd century and gave access to the Gallo-Roman town of Durocortorum.

    The monumental Mars Gate dates from the first part of the 3rd century and gave access to the Gallo-Roman town of Durocortorum. It is made of three arches on which original sculptures are still visible : Romulus and Remus, the farm works, Leda and the swan.

    MARS GATE IS CURRENTLY BEING RESTORED. IT WILL REMAIN OUT OF SIGHT UNTIL 2017.
