CHASSE AU PETIT GIBIER
Hunting at Chaumont

Small game is represented principally by three species: the hare, the rabbit and the grey partridge.
Natural populations are fairly small, and experience great difficulty in developing.
This situation is explained by modern farming techniques combined with constantly disappearing habitat and significant predation.
However, hunters who look after their territory, working in partnership with farmers and regulating predators, may obtain good results, particularly with rabbits, which can be managed well over small areas.
