Exhibition ,  Medieval ,  Sculpture at Reims

  • The different steps of an ambitious restoration

Last step of the overall rehabilitation of the front of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the level of the great rose is the only part of the western façade that had not really been restored since the terrible fire of 19 September 1914.
Alongside the original sculptures on display at the Palais du Tau, stained glass, unpublished watercolour surveys, 3D scans, mouldings, films... explain the different stages of this ambitious restoration.
The exhibition shows how, in the 21st century, this project is based not only on ancestral know-how but also uses the most modern restoration techniques.

Summer opening hours until 8 September: from 9:30am to 6:30pm
