    Symposium organized by the Departmental Archives of the Marne (General Council of the Marne), in partnership with the Inter-Service des Archives de France (Ministry of Culture and Communication). Marne is a French department where there is the largest number of French military burials of the First World War (more than 164 000 bodies in 34 cemeteries). In addition, the first battle of the Marne in September 1914, was one of the deadliest conflict. This international and interdisciplinary conference is an opportunity to remember the sacrifice of millions of soldiers killed during the Great War and an update on the status of historiography and historical research on this topic.
