The Silère Garden was laid out in formal French style in the second half of the 17th century and is attributed to that gardening genius, André Le Nôtre. It has a classical architectural layout with boxwood parterres, walks bordered with linden trees, the whole forming a symbolism relating an allegorical tale of a person’s progress through life.
Beyond its fountains and impeccably clipped boxwood, walking through the garden is both aesthetically pleasing and a symbol of Man’s mastery over nature.
The romantic 19th century walk takes in the length of a sparkling stream with a waterfall and limestone rock outcrop. “Remarkable Wooded Grounds” Label.
